Amanda Murphy behind camera on a shoot

about

Amanda is a cinematographer and editor based in Connecticut. Her passion for the visual arts began in high school, creating short films for her school, friends, and family. This passion followed her to Emerson College, where she studied media production, with concentrations in cinematography and editing.

Amanda has taken the time to perfect her craft, shooting music videos for local artists, grassroots political campaigns, and acting as cinematographer for many short films. One of the most recent shorts she shot, Lessons in Red (dir. William Schwartz), went on to win Best Student Film at the Core International Film Festival.

When not on set, she can be found out shooting photographs, which is one of her favorite ways to explore light and composition. She had the honor of having one of her photos featured on Unsplash, a free photo curation website used by notable brands like Apple and Medium. Her photos have also been featured by such organizations as the Grand Canyon Conservancy, Esplanade Association and Snap Travel.

Amanda is always looking for new projects to take on - hire her as director of photography, camera operator, or editor for your next production.
